We have some of the best of the best therapists and staff and we would like to introduce to each one of them. Each member of the staff is unique with all the specific training and knowledge they possess however, we all share one common bond and that is making sure that each child succeeds in their treatment, making sure that each family is treated with the utmost respect and courtesy. We believe in all our kids and give our full undivided attention to them during therapy.
Christa Brophy has in worked in Occupational Therapy for 15 years in a variety of settings, and in a variety of capacities. She initially worked as a COTA/L (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant/ Licensed), which she earned from Pennsylvania College of Technology and then in 2003 graduated from OTR (Occupational Therapist/Registered and Licensed) school from Penn State University, Mont Alto campus.
Christa is Reiki 1 certified and is certified in SIPT (Sensory Integration Praxis Test). She is a certified Handwriting Without Tears instructor and has run handwriting groups, as well as individual remediation.
Prior to coming to Kidswork she provided school based services, as well as in home and preschool instruction for approximately 6 years. In October of 2007 she became the owner of Kidswork and a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
She enjoys spending time with her family, reading and scrapbooking.
Melissa Engle is a COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) that has been employed with Kidswork since 2003. She earned her Associate of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy assisting in September 2002 from Pennsylvania College of Technology.
Melisa is certified in alternative treatments which include, Craniosacral Therapy, Reiki 1 and Simple Contact.
In her spare time Melissa enjoys spending time with her family, reading, skiing, and gardening.
Krista Daldo is a COTA/L (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant/ Licensed), who has been working in pediatric Occupational Therapy for 12 years. Krista's experience in pediatrics has been provided through home and school based in addition to private practice and early intervention. She also has experience in Craniosacral Therapy, Reiki, flexology and trainings in Autism.
Krista is married and has two young boys.
Karen Spaar is an Occupational Therapy Assistant who graduated from Pennsylvania College of Technology in 1999. She has been practicing in the field of pediatrics for the past 8 years. Karen works in the school system as well as here at Kidswork.
Karen is also trained in Craniosacral Therapy. She lives at home with her husband. She has 3 sons and one beautiful grandson. In her free time Karen enjoys hiking, traveling and reading.
Janine graduated from College Misericordia in 2005 with a Bachelor Degree in Psychology and a Master Degree in Occupational Therapy. Since graduation in 2005, Janine has been working as a pediatric Occupational Therapist within the school setting. She has been providing contract work for Kidswork since 2008. Janine recently joined the Kidswork staff in August 2010 as a full time employee. Janine has attended professional development courses in Handwriting Without Tears®, The Alert Program, and Neurodevelopment. Janine currently teaches courses on Development and Intervention, and previously courses on Neurodevelopment, as an adjunct faculty member at Misericordia University to both the traditional and weekend college programs. Janine has passion for learning and the field of Occupational Therapy. She is a member of both AOTA and POTA.
